Are you Turkish? You don't look Turkish.

Hrant Dink, an editor of Agos, a newspaper published in Turkish and Armenian, is once again facing charges of insulting Turkishness.

The charges had effectively been dismissed in October when he was given a six-month suspended sentence. The Turkish court, however, threw out his appeal today and says he must still face charges of insulting Turkish identity.

His crime? Writing a column about the Armenian genocide in 1915 when one and a half million Armenians were killed under Ottoman rule. Turkey prefers not to remember a genocide ever took place, and has never publicly acknowledged it, often persecuting those who do.

So what exactly is Turkishness? One thing seems clear from this latest court decision, it sounds a lot like Truthiness.
